2021-01-12 - Robert Sapolsky, Neuroendocrinologist & Author: Free Will is Biology mechanisms not yet discovered by science - but for personal purpose there is hope, it is called Knowledge.

In this conference, the author makes the demonstration that we are the result of our pasts (as a species (although not all coming from the same environments) and as individuals with our different life stories. To him there is no such thing as Free Will). This video will start at the question period, addressing this very point. It is worth listening to the whole presentation - brilliant!

What drives human behavior? Why do we do what we do? Is free will an illusion? Has civilization made us better? Can we escape our tribal past? These questions are the subject of Stanford biology professor Robert Sapolsky’s new book Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst. Watch him as he explores why we are the way we are and explains why we ultimately do the things we do… for good and for ill.
