The body or the mind?

The body or the mind?

It could be both, yes! (this text is still a work in progress - not perfect yet!)

I am always amazed, no, the word is too weak, mesmerized! that's it, or maybe astonished, let's keep astonished. So, I am always astonished to realize that most people could work on their body, their look, their living space, but never work on their mind, just to be able to keep in shape intellectually, learning about the world, being informed about things that help them grow, carry good conversations, etc.

Even the ones that put serious efforts to appear younger forget to keep their brains young (still in a learning mode), up to date (to put it this way).

So, without an inner life, a curiosity, the little material things of the day to day life take a lot of importance. That is why you see people develop habits some could find awkward, and stick to the only stimuli that works for them: Television. This, often among elderly persons.

I won't comment on the little physical things that make somebody look old, or older. I am too elegant for that. But, it is with great pleasure that I will give you three real examples of behaviors which betray the fact that the person is old, at least in her head. In this case, we are talking, you understood, about a woman.

  1. The person invites you for an early dinner (so you are out of the place before her favorite show starts on TV).

  2. The person protects her TV remote control with a plastic bag.

  3. The person is over protective of her floor and maniac about cleaning just after dinner while you are still there.

If you notice such awkward habits in a person: run, just run, it is my advice. Maybe it has to do with the kind of education they received (or not received actually), where they come from, etc. I don't know.

And how about the white teeth syndrome? Same story - Nice mouth, nothing to say

The white teeth syndrome wears off in certain circles only. It has to do with social appurtenance. Per example, you see white teeth in TV series, in Hollywood, among workers of the beauty and cosmetic industry, secretaries and health helpers of all kind... Not to worry about suffering from that syndrome if you are a business person, an academic, a serious professional, etc. Why this behavioral difference? Persons with a weaker brain are more permeable to advertisement pressure and they believe strongly what ever they see on their screens. They never understood the insidious mechanism of advertisement/publicity - in this case: white teeth = happiness, more luck in their love lives, advancement, etc.

Run, just run.
